Osian Roberts, known as one of the most influential figures in Welsh football, will speak about ‘meeting the challenge of change’ at the event, at the Optic Centre, St Asaph, on Friday December 8 from 9am to 4pm.

Roberts, who along with ex-manager Chris Coleman led Wales’ stunning Euro 2016 campaign, has been a vital part of the national team’s coaching staff since 2010.

He assists the Wales manager with senior team duties and is responsible for the development of football in Wales. Brought up in Bodffordd, Anglesey, he has also managed American football club New Mexico Chillies and Porthmadog FC.

Other speakers at the event, which will be run by the ION Leadership and 20Twenty programmes, include business development coach Darren Lawrenson, award-winning HR and employment law expert Fiona McKay and business consultant Jed Hassid.

The event, which will include a trade show, is open to attendees from companies across North Wales. Tickets cost £20 per person, and can be purchased at http://shop.bangor.ac.uk/product-catalogue/ysgol-busnes-bangor-bangor-business-school

Gwenllian Owen, project manager for the ION Leadership and 20 Twenty programmes, said:

“Our programmes help businesses in North Wales to improve productivity, skills and leadership so they can compete, grow and employ more people.

“Over the last 7 years we’ve helped develop hundreds of leaders to learn new techniques, and gain confidence in their leadership skills.

“Some of the learning is in groups between peers on each cohort.  At other times, we bring in experienced speakers, to provide real-life examples.

“Having led Wales to historical success in the Euros, Osian Roberts is a fantastic example of an effective leader.

“He’ll talk us through how he inspired our national team to achieve such momentous success.

“We’re expecting it to be a sell-out and I’d urge anyone wanting to attend to book as soon as possible.”

Led by Cardiff and Swansea Universities in partnership with Bangor University, the ION and 20 Twenty Leadership programmes are supported with funding from the European Social Fund, to raise skills and drive forward productivity and turnover in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as in larger companies.
